You might have said to yourself “Why do I need a coach to teach me CrossFit, I can do this on my own.”
One great thing about having a coach is, they monitor your movement patterns to make sure you are moving safely and correctly. Yes, exercise is incredibly important but knowing what exercises to do and how to do them is even more important.
To start we are very subconsciously biased to what we don’t like or what we aren’t good at. Just programming a movement you don’t like does not mean you are getting any better or stronger at it. Are you getting the volume you should? Are you doing it as often as you should? Are other metabolic pathways involved? Is there proper variance and intensity? Our CrossFit coaches follow a model that has worked for years and years making sure you get the optimal results from your 60 minutes each day.
Also are you getting real time feedback when you don’t have a coach? Yes, video comes in handy after the fact but at that point the damage could have already been done. A coach can help correct your movements in real time and hold you accountable to move correctly. Working out is not intended to go like, we just start the clock, spaz out during the workout while getting sweaty and be done. During the workout coaches are supposed to help you move safely and efficiently so you can get “more” work done at a higher power output. That’s where the results come in.
CrossFit coaches at BTG are certified, educated and trained to be the best of the best. We take the time to sit down with each athlete and learn their personal goals and check in with them on a regular basis to make sure they are on track for their goals.
